From the photos above it’s evident that The Big Blue’s propeller coating of Propspeed is looking a little worn. According to Chief Engineer, Andrew Deas, The Big Blue has travelled 32,000 nautical miles on a single application, which was more than 2 years ago. So that wear is quite understandable!
We’d love to be able to measure the fuel savings of a Propspeed application on a boat like The Big Blue, but from launch it has always had Propspeed, so we have no base line for comparison. With a fresh application of Propspeed, The Big Blue is now back in the water, ready for another couple of years of cruising.
